Employee Mobile App
Overview of the MyChronos mobile app for employees — available on Android and iOS.
The MyChronos mobile app is the employee-facing application. It lets employees clock in and out, view their schedule, request absences, validate their time records, and access their personal documents — all from their phone.
The app is available on Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store).
First login
The first time you open the app, you will be asked for your email and password. You should have received these in a welcome email from your company administrator. Enter them to sign in.
On first launch, the app will request two permissions:
- Notifications — Allow notifications to receive reminders to clock in, and to be informed when an absence or schedule change request is accepted or rejected.
- Location — Location is only accessed at the moment of clocking in or out, and never at any other time. Some companies require location to be active in order to allow clocking.
Home screen
The home screen includes the clock in/out module and a set of dynamic widgets that appear based on your company's configuration and your personal permissions. Depending on your setup, you may see:
- Who is on duty today
- Your upcoming absences
- Company publications
- Other relevant information
Clocking in and out
Swipe the clocking bar on the home screen to record your entry or exit. When a session is open (you are clocked in), a counter displays the elapsed time of the current session.
Depending on your company's configuration, you may be asked to select a workplace or a project before the clocking is recorded.
Confirmation message
After swiping, a message appears indicating that the record is being sent. When the clocking has been successfully delivered to the server, a green confirmation message is displayed: "All records sent." Always wait for this green message before closing the app or putting your phone away.
Close the app too quickly and the clocking may not be sent
The app supports offline clocking — if you have no internet connection, the record is saved locally and sent when connectivity is restored. However, if you close the app immediately after clocking before the record has been sent, it may not reach the server. In that case, managers will not see the clocking even though you actually clocked in or out, and the app may send you a reminder notification to clock in or out even though you already did. Always wait for the green confirmation before closing the app.
Location permission
If you have disabled the location permission for the MyChronos app in your phone's settings, you may encounter issues clocking in or out. In some companies, an active location permission is required to record clockings.
Breaks
If your company has breaks enabled, while a clocking session is open you will see an option to start a break. This lets you record break time you are entitled to during your shift. When the break ends, tap to end it — the open session counter resumes automatically.
