Holiday Calendars
Create and manage public holiday calendars that can be assigned to multiple employees to automatically mark non-working days.
Overview
The Festius section lets you manage public holiday calendars for your company: local, regional, and national holidays. Navigate to /admin/calendars to access it.
A single holiday calendar can be assigned to multiple employees, so you don't need to add public holidays one by one for each person.
Holiday calendars vs. individual absences
Holiday calendars are for public, non-working days (local, regional, or national holidays). Individual absences — such as vacation, sick leave, or personal days — are managed separately under Calendar.

Creating a Holiday Calendar
Click + Crear calendari and fill in the fields:
Enter a name
Give the calendar a descriptive name that makes it easy to identify later. Use the name of the city, region, or group it applies to — for example, Festius Barcelona or General Calendar.
Choose the default holiday type
Select the absence type that will be assigned to imported holidays. In most setups there is only one option: Festiu (Holiday).
If you have multiple absence types configured, this field lets you differentiate holidays by their origin calendar.
Holiday absence types are created and managed in Configuració → Tipus d'absències. To make a type available here, enable the Show in holiday calendar option on that type.
Import holidays from public sources (optional)
Use the Importar calendaris de festius field to link this calendar to an official public source (local government, regional authority, or national government).
Once linked, MyChronos automatically imports the correct holidays each year — no manual entry needed.
Save the calendar
Click Guardar i tornar to save and go back to the list, Guardar i continuar editant to keep editing, or Guardar i crear nou to save and immediately create another calendar.
Managing Existing Calendars
From the calendars list you can:
- Festius — View the calendar's holidays in a calendar view.
- Editar — Change the name, default type, or import sources.
- Eliminar — Delete the calendar. Use caution if it is already assigned to employees.
